The Church of God of Prophecy in the Turks and Caicos Islands celebrated 100 years since its formal organization in 1926 with a week of services and gatherings Oct. 18-25, ending with a Grand Centennial Thanksgiving Service at the Kew Church of God of Prophecy on North Caicos.
The centennial carried the theme “A Legacy of Purpose – A Future of Hope,” according to a report posted Nov. 5 on the denomination's international website by Rev. Andre Gibson, the church's national Communication Division director and an associate pastor of the Kew congregation. The report said the ministry began in prayer gatherings in Kew and grew through generations of believers.
