About Watchman News
Christian news from the wall, out of Indiana.
Watchman News reports what is happening to the church at home and around the world: believers suffering for Christ, court cases that touch the freedom to worship, the work of churches across Indiana, and the events of our day seen in the light of Scripture.
Our name comes from Ezekiel 33. The watchman on the wall had one job: to see clearly and sound the trumpet in time. We take that charge seriously.
How our newsroom works
Watchman News is run by a small editorial team that uses AI tools for much of the daily work. Our newsroom software scans trusted sources, drafts stories, and checks every name, date, number and quote against the original source. Our editor sets the standards, reviews sensitive stories before they run, and writes or approves every opinion piece.
Our standards
- No invented quotes. A quote appears only if a person actually said or wrote it, and we link where it came from.
- We write our own stories. We summarize and credit other outlets' reporting and link to it. We do not copy their work.
- News and opinion are kept apart. Commentary appears in The Trumpet and is labeled “Opinion.”
- Advocacy sources are named as such. Much persecution reporting comes from ministries on the ground. We say who reported it and when we could not confirm it independently.
- Scripture is quoted from the King James Version.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction at the bottom of the story. To report an error, email editor@watchmannews.com.
