More than 1,000 men gathered Oct. 22-25 at the Glaubenszentrum (Faith Center), a Bible school and Christian community in Bad Gandersheim in the German state of Lower Saxony, for a men's conference built around the theme “Steadfast,” Christian Daily International reported Nov. 6.

The center's hall seats 1,000, and the crowd went past that, according to the report. Speakers included Bayless Conley, the Los Alamitos, Calif., pastor who founded Cottonwood Church with his wife and is known to German viewers through his broadcast “Antworten mit Bayless Conley,” and his son, Harrison.

Sam Childers, the American known as the “Machine Gun Preacher,” spoke about children caught up in civil war in East Africa. Cardiologist Henning Steen, a professor, spoke about the human heart from both a scientific and a spiritual angle. Bad Gandersheim Mayor Niklas Kielhorn addressed the men on Saturday, Oct. 24.

“We men must become and remain steadfast in all areas of life: in faith, in the family, in our work,” wrote Achim Ginsberg, who heads print and editorial work at the Glaubenszentrum, in a report quoted by the local Gandersheimer Kreisblatt. Two in-depth seminars were added to the program this year.

Men from the conference also went out to share the gospel on the streets of Hanover, the state capital, and two people there decided to follow Jesus, according to Christian Daily. “As organizers, we are moved again and again by the men's openness in prayer and in conversations,” the Glaubenszentrum told the German Christian news service IDEA.
