Blue Mountain Christian University in Blue Mountain, Miss., scheduled an official ribbon cutting for its new Center for Grace and Healing at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, with guided tours of the building to begin at noon, The Baptist Record reported.

The school said the building was planned to serve students studying healthcare, the sciences and mathematics. It includes high-fidelity nursing simulation laboratories, modern science and math equipment, study and collaboration spaces and modern classrooms.

“The Center for Grace and Healing represents far more than a new building,” said Dr. Barbara C. McMillin, president of Blue Mountain Christian University. “It is a reflection of our commitment to preparing students to serve with both competence and compassion.”

The university invited community members, alumni, donors, students, faculty, staff and friends to the ceremony. The Baptist Record is the journal of the Mississippi Baptist Convention.

What we don't know yet: The Baptist Record's report was published Nov. 5, ahead of the event, and did not give the building's cost or how many students it will serve. Watchman News has not seen a report from the ceremony itself.
